Job Summary:

Obelisk’ IT Development department develop and support both inhouse and purchased systems. Our inhouse Project Management system is developed in Visual Basic, Javascript/jQuery, HTML and CSS. Our HR & Asset management systems are PHP based systems and both connect to a MySQL database.

A new role has opened up to provide phone, email and deskside support to users of all our systems (both inhouse developed and purchased) and also learn our systems to assist our development team in the software development lifecycle.


Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

Level 1 System Support

Monitor Support Helpdesk & Prioritise calls/tickets

Provide software phone, email and deskside support to users

Provide remote support to off-site teams

Resolve ticket if possible, communicate resolution to the end user and close the ticket. If unable to resolve thoroughly, document ticket with actions taken, in an attempt to resolve and escalate ticket in accordance with IT Department procedures

Form Development & Support in our Form Builder Tool

Assist developers where knowledge allows with VB and SQL queries

Assist developers with API implementation to provide integration with other systems

Skills & Experience Required:

Technical Diploma/Degree in Computer Science with experience in a similar role

A keen interest in systems is essential

Interest in continuous learning

Excellent organisational skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Must possess excellent problem analysis and troubleshooting skills

Work as part of a team or on own initiative

Knowledge of PHP Symphony an advantage
